Without writing a line of code

Your web application, described in plain words, put online for you.

An internal tool for your team or a project of your own: describe what you need. Kedalia asks the right questions, proposes a plan, then builds, tests and deploys the application.

Already have an application? Kedalia plugs into it.

  • One fixed price, no credits
  • Hosted and backed up in France
  • It belongs to you
Example conversation: a request, the assistant's questions, then its plan.

We have 60 desks on two floors and three office days a week. I want everyone to book their desk in advance and see who sits where.

Two questions before the plan: are meeting rooms booked too? And who sees the floor plan?

Only the desks. Everyone sees the plan.

Plan ready
  1. The plan of both floors and their desks.
  2. Booking a desk, day by day.
  3. Who sits where, visible to everyone.

The problem

  • A spreadsheet that has grown so complex nobody dares to change it any more.
  • Costly software of which only a fraction of the features is used.
  • An ill-suited tool that stays in place for lack of a replacement at a reasonable cost.

These needs rarely justify custom development, let alone a per-user subscription. Kedalia meets them for a fixed price.

How it works

  1. 1

    You describe

    Describe your need in your own words. You can attach the spreadsheet or document to replace.

  2. 2

    The assistant clarifies your need

    It asks the necessary questions, then submits a plan written in plain language.

  3. 3

    You approve

    No code is written until you have approved the plan.

  4. 4

    The application is online

    It is built, tested and deployed, with user account management and e-mail sending.

To change it, simply ask in the same conversation.

The app stays available while you change it

Elsewhere, a change often goes straight into the app your users have in front of them.

With Kedalia, every change, whether a feature or a fix, is prepared in a test version. Your users carry on with the live app, and several changes can move forward at the same time, each on its own.

Each test version has:

  • its own address, to try it the way your users will see it;
  • its own test data: the real data is not touched;
  • its own conversation with the assistant.

Once you are happy with the result, “Publish” adds it to the live app, after its tests pass. How many test versions can run at the same time depends on the tier.

Your application also works without Kedalia

Most application generators hand you the code. But that code depends on their database, their authentication and their services: getting it back is not enough to run it elsewhere.

A Kedalia application is a standard project: it uses no tool or service of Kedalia's own. For your IT department: a backend, a frontend, a PostgreSQL database and a docker-compose.yml file; the whole hosting chain, from the code forge to the deployment, is free software.

The Export button gives you, at any time:

  • the full history of the code;
  • the database;
  • a redeployment guide that brings everything back up elsewhere with a single command. For e-mail sending, you only need to give your own server.

You are the owner, not a tenant. If you stay, it is because the service suits you and you have nothing to administer.

Already have an application?

Kedalia plugs into it. You then evolve it like an application created with Kedalia: through the conversation, in test versions, then “Publish” once you are happy with the result.

Its code stays on GitHub

  • The assistant works in your repository, alongside your team.
  • “Publish” adds the change to your code, after its tests pass.
  • Your hosting and your production releases do not change.

Already plugged in: a local producers' shop, whose Trello tasks moved into Kedalia.

Kedalia hosts it

  • Its code and history, its data and its domain name are taken over.
  • It is backed up every night and can be exported at any time, like any Kedalia application.
  • Your users keep its address and their accounts.

Already plugged in: a booking application in service, taken over with its data and its domain name.

  1. 1A study of your application, which must be able to run in containers, then a quote.
  2. 2We add what it needs to run its tests and its test versions.
  3. 3We plug it in: you carry on in the conversation.

Example applications

These applications rest on the same building blocks: data, the links between them, forms, exports and alerts. Only their arrangement changes, and the assistant works it out with you over the conversation.

Desk booking for flex office

The floor plan, the office days, who sits where.

What you could write

“We have 60 desks on two floors and three office days a week. I want everyone to book their desk in advance and see who sits where.”

The occupational risk assessment

Create and maintain the mandatory risk assessment document, with the history of its versions, printing and distribution.

What you could write

“I keep our risk assessment in the attached spreadsheet. I want to update it per work unit, keep every version and be able to print it.”

Subcontractor compliance certificates

Social security, insurance, company registration: the missing documents, the expiring ones, and the reminders before the deadline.

What you could write

“Every six months I must collect the social security certificate, the insurance and the company registration of our subcontractors. I want to see what is missing and send reminders.”

Supplier contract deadlines

Renewal dates, termination notice periods, automatic renewal, and an alert sent in time.

What you could write

“I want the list of our supplier contracts with their renewal date and notice period, and an alert before the deadline to terminate them.”

Your data

The questions raised during a supplier assessment, and our answers.

Where is the data?
On servers located in France, with a French hosting provider, which we administer ourselves. Our subprocessors are listed in our legal information.
Who has access to it?
Only the users you invite into your applications. The Kedalia team does not access your users' data.
Is the data backed up?
Yes: every night, onto a second server in France. The backups go back as far as six months, and restoring them is tested.
And artificial intelligence?
You have the choice. By default, the assistant relies on the AI model of an American provider, listed among our subprocessors: your messages and the files attached to the conversation are then processed outside the European Union. On request, the assistant relies on an AI model hosted in Europe.
What is checked before going online?
The application’s tests, and a search for secrets — passwords, access keys — in what was changed. Nothing goes online if the tests fail.
Fixed price

One fixed price a month. Not per user, not per credit.

Your tier includes:

  • several applications;
  • your team's accounts;
  • the hosting;
  • a use of the assistant that renews automatically, with no credits to buy back.

Your budget is known in advance.

Frequently asked questions

Do I need to know how to code?

No. The assistant asks its questions and presents a plan in plain language before writing a single line of code.

Who owns the code?

You do, along with its database: the Export button hands you everything whenever you wish.

Can Kedalia take over an existing application?

Yes, after a study of the application and on a quote. Its code can stay on GitHub, or Kedalia hosts it with its data and its domain name: see “Already have an application?” above.

Why no credits?

So that your budget stays predictable. With credits, every request made to the assistant is charged; with Kedalia, the price of your tier stays the same from one month to the next.

What if I use the assistant a lot?

The use of the assistant included in your tier renews automatically. When it runs out, the conversation's gauge shows the time at which it becomes available again, and no overage is ever charged. If your needs call for it, you can ask us for a higher tier.

What if the application does not work as expected?

Report it in the same conversation: the assistant fixes it, the tests run again, then the new version goes online.

What if I stop?

You export your applications before leaving: they run elsewhere, without us.

What if Kedalia stops?

You are told by e-mail while your applications are still online, and invited to export them. Once exported, they run on any server: they depend on no service of Kedalia's own.
